PIT timer delay.

I am currently w=working with KEA128 FRDM board. I have already written PIT timer delay program. But i have one doubt, how 

this value will generate one second delay. how to load the value for LDVAL0 according to our requirements to generate different delay

In the PIT for Kinetis K Series MCUs p13 it is mentioned how could you calculate the value for the LDVAL register.
