Hello sir,

Regarding PN5190, We only have 2 launched versions of the IC. Version B2 and B1 are shown in the Datasheet. You shouldn't have any issues in case you are attempting to update the secure firmware it is highly recommended to upgrade to the newest version available v2.f6. Still, the functionality of your application shouldn't present any issues.

Regarding the Automatic antenna tunning, please keep in mind that the tunning of the antenna still requires some work depending on the antenna type.

AAT is only a complementary feature and by any means replaces the hardware work that a new antenna design requires.

Please take a look at the following link: https://www.nxp.com/products/rfid-nfc/nfc-hf/nfc-readers/nfc-frontend-supporting-challenging-rf-envi...

In the section Software, you will find the Binary Files (FW6590) and the Firmware example code (SW6592).

Additionally to this, please take a look at the Quick Start guide for steps by steps.

Best Regards,
Fabian

Hello sir,

Unfortunately, we don't have the C127E version, only C127K (single tray) and, C127C (reel). My apologies for this. Is possible that some of our distributors may have the E version but, I highly recommend to please take a look at the available packages from our site.

Hi Team

Thanks for the replay.

Could you please answer below listed few more quires.

  1. we are using your part PN5190B1EV/C121E, and it has been factory initialized firmware version 2.1.
  2. when we try to do antenna tuning (AAT) , we understood that it is not supported on this version 2.1 firmware.
  3. we understood that from version 2.F6, the antenna tuning (AAT) feature is available.
  4. is the 2.F6 version portable without fail on the device PN5190B1EV/C121E
  5. after porting 2. F6 version, is it possible to tune Antenna (AAT) successfully.

Thanks & regards,

Sivaram

Hello,

As mentioned in the Datasheet, PN5190 B1 supports firmware updates to the newest FW version (which is recommended).

Please keep in mind that the automatic antenna tunning has its limitations and, in case your antenna design is quite different from the EVK we highly recommend to please tune the antenna traditionally.

You should not have any issues while the IC version you use is the B1 and, the FW you are updating to is mentioned in RN00003.

Best Regards,
Fabian

Hello sir,

Unfortunately, we don't have any thermal solution for this case. The only recommendations for HW development are shown in AN12551. Does this power drawing issue happen after the PICC is placed in the PN5190 antenna for a long time? My recommendation would be to please consider using NFC Cockpit for calibrating and, fine-tuning your solution. My apologies sir but, we don't have a step-by-step solution for this issue.

If you are still requiring support regarding this power issue, please create a new case. This will help us to keep track of separated issues in the future.

Best Regards,
Fabian
