Module Suggestion for Classic BT and BLE

I am looking for a module for the application of asset tracking. 

I need a module which supports both classic bluetooth and BLE with version 5.1 and above.

Also it should support extraction of IQ samples or the AoA

Is there any modules available for this solution.

Hi, @karthicknarayanan 

For BT 5.1/BLE and above, I know we have several products to support this such as IW416, 88W8987,88W9098,IW620,IW611,IW612,IW610,IW693, IW623 which can work in Linux and Android OS.

But I am not sure whether they support AoA Feature. Let me check internally and get back to you.

By the way, which platform do you prefer? Linux or Android or RTOS?

Do you prefer to use USB interface or UART interface for Bluetooth?

 Either Linux/RTOS is preferred  and on interface UART is preferred.

Also I am adding some more points for more clarification on the requirement regarding AoA

• Stack should provide both amplitude and phase data for both Classic Bluetooth and BLE
• Alternatively if it provides IQ data also it will be helpful.

I received our internal team's feedback that currently no product has AoA feature officially enabled (but some part of implementation is done in our code but not enabled ).

I am checking with product management to get possible option for this feature enablement. Will update you accordingly once i have some feedback.

Sorry for the inconvenience to you.

After checked internally with our PM team, we conclude that we have no products today that support Bluetooth AoA. 

Unless this is an extremely large business opportunity, we will not be re-evaluating the NXP position on Bluetooth AoX functionality.

We do not support this feature – nor do we plan to support this feature in the near future.

Or, you can let me know your annual revenue request,  we can assess again via MKTG.
