Hi,

I'm using K64 microcontroller and I need to implement Ethernet , hence I'm using suggested PHY KSZ8081 and RJ45 JX0011D21NL .I want to know how to conenct REF_CLK with microprocessor as pin 72 ( PTA18/EXTAL0/FTM0_FLT2/FTM_CLKIN0 ) is being used by external oscillator to provide clock to microprocessor.

Can someone tell me how to set clock for syncing ethernet PHY and microprocessor?

Hi

Use the FRDM-K64F circuit diagram as reference.

It connects the EXTAL0 to the PHY's 50MHz REF_CLK.

Make sure that you use the KS8081RNA (generates 50MHz clock form 25MHz crystal) and not the KS8081RND (which requires a 50MHz clock)!!!!

We are using a cystal to program the microprocessor at this pin so its occupied.Is there any provision to synchronise MAC of processor with PHY Ref Clock.

Hi,

There is an alternative clock source for ENET module, you may feed ENET_1588_CLKIN with 50MHz clock as the same as PHY Ref Clock. Please kindly refer to the following for details.
