Kinetis Flashloader when ROM boot loader not supported

Hi,

For Kinetis chips that do not support ROM bootloader, are the chips shipped with an erased flash or a flashloader exists on the internal flash?

If the chips are shipped with an erased flash, how the manufacturing tool can program the chips and install the compiled flashloader for the first time? (Other than Jtag/SWD debuggers)

Thanks

Hi sina_farzinfard,

As I know, even the new chip which doesn't support the ROM bootloader has the flashloader, that is the once operation flashloader, when you download the code, the flashoader is disappeared.

So,to that type chip, I suggest you use the debugger or the programmer to download the code through the SWD interface. You need to download the flashloader which is based on the flash with the debugger or the programmer at first.

Except the JTAG, flashloader related interface, you can check the eZport, whether your chip can support or not, not all the chip can support it.

But, infact, we normally use the SWD interface with debugger.

Wish it helps you!

If you still have question about it, please kindly let me know.

Best Regards,

Kerry
