Hello,
we are using kinetis K60 (MK60DN512VLQ10). And we would like to use now an external battery to supply the RTC.
As we are working with VDD=1.8V, can the RTC work directly from a 3V battery?
In the datasheet K60P144M100SF2V2, I see that VBAT operating requirements are 1.71 to 3.6V, but I don't see any restriction respect VDD, is there any?
Thank you
best regards

Marcos,
K series products have separate VDD and VBAT domains. Both those domains support 1.71-3.6V supply ranges. The two domains can operate from independent supplies.
In summary, you can separate VBAT from VDD and operate it from a battery. :smileyhappy:
