K10 - Crystal design using internal load capacitors

I'm not finding much information on the design alternatives on using a 4.0 mhz crystal with a K10.

The several app notes talk about the danger of using too hi a drive but I can't find any thing that helps determine if my application should be set up as lo drive or hi drive.

The documents also suggest that the external load resistor and caps may not be required by using the internal caps.

Where can I find information that explores those options so I can decide what's acceptable.

The User Guide is very - very weak on this subject and the app notes are too general.

If anyone has insight or direction - please provide.

Thanks.

Joe

Hi, Joe

First, crystal loading capacitor value depends on manufacturer specification. If your crystal need loading capacitor is 22pF, you can enable bit SC2P, SC4P and SC16P together. The internal capacitors are paralleled.

Hope my reply can help you.

Best Regards

Paul
