High current in VLLS poder mode with MKL03Z16VFG4

Hello,

I'm having a problem getting consistent power consumption values with the MKL03Z16VFG4 in VLSS mode. I'm trying the example code from the frdmkl03z_power_manager project that uses the low power timer to wake up the device periodically. Sometimes I'm able to get current down to the advertised ~1.8uA, but most times current is around 70uA.

What is going on here? Is there some race condition, or a flag that needs to be checked before entering VLSS mode?

Regards,

Daniel

Hi @danicampora

The power consumption could be affected depending on the use of the MCU during low power modes, you could check application note AN4503 chapter 13.1.2 Tips for making low-power measurements on the bench to verify. You could also check AN4470 Using Low Power modes on Kinetis Family, here you can also find more information. To find this Application Notes, search the number here.

Let me know if you have any other question.

Best Regards, Miguel.
