Bootloader missing on "new" parts

We recently purchased some reels of MK22FX512AVLL12 from Mouser, to replace the MK22FN256VLL12 which we can no longer source.

[Our firmware has been ported to the new target etc]

After building our boards with the new micro, there seems to be no factory bootloader on these parts. We cannot connect to kboot over USB or serial, using blhost or KinetisFlashTool

I'm concerned about the missing bootloader though... could we have counterfeit parts?

Hi @malder ,

MK22FX512AVLL12 hasn't flashloader. Please compare MK22FX512AVLL12  and MK22FN256 RM.

file:///C:/Users/nxf32199/Downloads/K22P100M120SF5V2RM%20(1).pdf

You can see that MK22FN256 chapter 13 is Kinetis Flashloader. But MK22FX512AVLL12 hasn't this chapter.

Regards,

Jing

Thanks Jingpan,

At least that explains it.

It's confusing though because they are both in the K22 120 family and the website says that family comes pre-programmed.
