I get this error at the debugger startup in KDS 3.2 and KDS 2.0.
I am using Windows 7 and FRDM KL46Z.
I have read the similar questions here in the forum, and checked some things.
I have no zombie or ghost processes.
The debugger was working fine recently in KDS 2.0, but I recently installed 3.2 as well.
Must I re-install all of my KDS's to try to get past this problem?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Erich - thanks for your suggestions. I did disable the firewall, but so far, no help.
The error always occurs immediately after opening the debugger, whether or not the development board is connected.
Also, I have uninstalled the KDS 3.0, with no change. ( I haven't tried re-installing that one yet.)
The proximal cause of the problem may be when I had ver 3.2 and 2.0 both open at the same time, while I was trying to configure the 3.2 debugger for the first time. Could a resource conflict have caused the problem? I think that my Windows Home Premium is not very robust in some circumstances.
Someone suggested that I open KDS with a different user name. Or upgrade to Professional, or get a Macbook?

HI Ken,
it could be indeed a USB driver problem. KDS comes with the P&E driver installer present in
C:\nxp\KDS_3.2.0\pemicro
(for my KDS 3.2.0 path).
Close all applications, and run that one again (e.g. in your 2.0, better in 3.2).

Hi Erich - If you or others have no more suggestions for me, I guess I'll try carefully uninstalling and re-installing the versions of KDS. I'm wary of loosing my work or settings, though.

I don't have any other ideas, and I doubt that re-installing will help. But you can try it.
To nail down the problem it would be good to narrow down when it happens?
Maybe it is a firewall issue? Can you disable it to give that a try?

Hi Erich - Thanks for your suggestion. I did (now) download and install the PEMicro updates into KDS3.2 and 2.0, but I still get the same error.
Do you suggest that I should uninstall and re-install any of the KDSs?

have you already updated the P&E plugins with Help > Install New Software?
