Hi, all

When designing circuits with the S32Gx Family, is an external clock generator required for using SerDes?

I am curious if it is possible to use only the internal PLL without an external clock generator.

Thanks and best regards

Hello, @Ralph88

Thanks for your post.

An external reference clock is required which meets PCIe Gen3 clock specifications.

If PCIe Gen3 is not required in your design, The internal reference clock can be used for supporting PCIe Gen2 and SGMII communication.

I hope it will help.
