Dear NXP Experts:

As we can see from the datasheet, TJA1044 is optimized for 12V automotive applications, so I have some questions below:

Q1: What is the exact difference between TJA1042 and TJA1044?

Q2: What is the optimized points of TJA1044?

Q3: If TJA1044 is used in 24v system, what is the risk?

Thanks for in advance!

Dear GuDingfu,

I would recommend you taking a closer look at the attached AH1308. The differences are summarized in Chapter 1.2.

The TJA1044 is part of the Mantis family of HS-CAN Transceivers for 12V applications (Gen-3 products like the TJA1042 remain the recommended transceivers for 24V applications).

Best regards,

Tomas

Thank you for your quick response, Tomas.

AH1308 clarify my doubt about the difference between TJA1042 and TJA1044.

But if TJA1044 is used in 24v applications, what parameter(EMC?) will be effected or raise performance degradation.

Best regards,

Dingfu
