Can the LS1012a SERDES be configured to act an SFP module (target to Ethernet Switch port)?
Essentially, can we connect LS1012a as SFP target (connecting to SFP host on Ethernet switches SFP port)?
Note: We want LS1012a to be the SFP/Target/Termination-Point for the Ethernet Switch port (there NO NEED to connect to an optical interface at all).
Is there an App Note or any details around this?
I'd sincerely appreciate your thought/ideas regarding this implementation.
PS: Attached is the SFP spec for SGMII/SERDES and IO signal perspective.
