Greetings.

I am contemplating a project using MC56F8006/MC56F8002 DSC and would like to use FOSS development software on Linux. It is likely that the project code would be larger than the size offered by the free starter package, and the version of CodeWarrior available seems to be for Windows, so is there anything available for this DSC on Linux?

Joseph Casey.

AFAIK there are not FOSS toolchains for NXP's MC56F8xxxxx products.
Years abo there was a toolchain by Cosmic Software for products using 56800/E cores that supported both Windows and Linux
(here you can find the link to their OLD website: https://www.cosmicsoftware.com/56k_compiler_des.php )

But there is no trace of it in the new website: https://cosmic-software.com/products.php

I guess it has been discontinued.

Thank you Lorenzo. I emailed Cosmic with an inquiry.

I had a C compiler for the 68HC11 back in the day, and it came on a 5.25 inch floppy disk. It may well have been from Cosmic.
