Has anybody read or review the book
 "About ColdFire® Microprocessors and Microcontrollers"
by Munir Bannoura, R. Bettelheim, & R Soja from Amt publishing?

Was it worth $96 & shipping?

I ordered a M52223 EVAL board and Freescale seems to be including the book as part of the package.
It is written by three Freescale Coldfire experts (Freescale employees) so the technical content is obviously good. It covers the processor and instruction set, exceptions and then all peripherals.
The version which I have is paper back and has a very 'Users' manual' feel - is the $96 one hardback?
The textual quality is not that good - there are a lot of sentences which seem to be only half finished / typos etc. - a proof reading and corresponding corrections for the next edition would be very worth while.

Mark,

I don't know if the book, "About ColdFire® Microprocessors and Microcontrollers",  is hardback or not.  (ISBN D 9762973-0-2).  www.amtpublishing.com is the only source for the book I've found so far.  The book listed has about 425 pages.

Hi All

Since I have now read much more of this book in teh meantime I wanted to update slightly.

The more detailed chapters after the introdution contain various details which prove very useful to know about - details which you don't normally think about or find in the data sheets. Although the introduction may need a bit or a rewrite due to some slumsy sentences, the following seems to be more mature text (possibly containing extracts from other published material of high quality).

In any case I have learned a few useful things from it and am glad to have it on my book sheft!

Regards

Mark
