interfacing MCF5480 through Compact PCI interface issues

Hello,

I have a system board using an MCF5480 with a Compact PCI interface to the motherboard.

Upon boot up, we are seeing bad video issues and communications problems with the board.

I feel I have the interfaced designed to the Compact PCI specifications by adding a 10 ohm series resistor n the path between the connector and cpu. This distance is within spec as well.

Has anyone seen a similar issue or have any ideas on what to do to fix this problem

Your feedback is much appreciated

The latest on this one is that I verified that the PCI interface is fine by placing the MCF5480 in long term reset and booting up the board on a machine. The machine boots fine- no video, no boot up secquence being interefered with......so in looking at reset configuration options, there is an address bit AD[4] that determines the flex bus mode whether it is in multiplexed mode or non multiplexed mode. IN non multiplexed mode, the Flex bus is the data bus and the PCI bus is the address bus. In the multiplexed mode, the flexbus handles both data and addressing which allows the PCI bus to be programmed accordingly for host/slave interaction.....THe problem is, although I am setting AD[4] high for multiplexed mode, I cannot see the register setting for AD4 in the CPU.... Does anyone know what register setting I should go through to see the AD4 setting? I can find other settings in the MCF5480 Reference Manual, but not for AD4 and AD5.

You help is appreciated.
