Hi

I have used the FreeScale m5282lite and the m52235evb as well as Netburner (http://www.netburner.com/) and EMAC SOM-5282 (http://www.emacinc.com/som/som5282em.htm).

If you don't need an external bus with SDRAM and FLASH, then the M52235EVB is very nice as it has a built in USB BDM. You can try it out with the FreeScale NicheLite stack or the uTasker stack (http://www.utasker.com/). If you want to use uCLinux then one of the 5282 boards would probably be better.

The M52235EVB can be used with a lite version of CodeWarrior or there is a very good CodeSourcery GNU toolchain (www.codesourcery.com). CodeSourcery supply an Eclipse-based IDE, or you can set your own up by following this tutorial on my website (http://www.cambridgeimaging.co.uk/wp_open-source-coldfire-ide.php).

Cheers,

Paul.
