Our application is pushing the Tj limits on the MCF5485. Are there any tricks to lower power consumption? Can we turn off peripherals that we are not using?

We are using the Ethernet (2) and the CAN.

Not much room for a heat sink.

yes, there are clock gating features in the pll. have you already looked at this and need more savings?
