Hi All,
I've used CW for a HC908 project and it was a great tool. But I have found it annoying for the CFV1 core because it seems to only want projects to be written in C. Why would have Freescale elected not to give the user the option of a totally clean sheet to start with for the people who always want to code in assembler?
I'm just revisiting my CFV1 project again and I recall I had to do a lot of stuffing around to be able to code it in assembler.
I haven't used the PPC version of CW, is it the same? (C based projects)
Thanks
Hello
Yes for all high end target (Coldfire, PA) Code Warrior do not provide ability to create assembler only project out of the wizard or stationery.

I guess they must have done it for a reason or maybe they figured nobody would code a PPC (or Coldfire) project in asm only. Can I Email someone at Freescale to request they look in to adding the assembler only option or would I be wasting my time?
I hate to say it, but I use the P&E Micros assembler for PowerPC because it can be a 100% assembler project, but I need a better option than that program.
Hello
Best here is to submit a feature request through our on line support web page.
Go to
https://www.freescale.com/webapp/servicerequest.create_SR.framework?regFlag=fromOpenSR
and submit a service request there.
Set Category to "Technical Request" and Topic to "CodeWarrior" on the first screen.
Set Root cause to "Feature Request" on the second screen and fill up all the other fields.

Thanks CrasyCat, I'll give that a go.
