CodeWarrior for Coldfire 7.1.1
MCF54452
Hi everyone,
I'm experiencing a problem with an USB-2-COM cable.
It's a Dynamix Y-105. The windows XP driver for the cable is 'Prolific USB-to-Serial Bridge 2.0.0.24'
The problem is this: when sending 5 characters over usb-2-com to our target, the Processor Expert UART bean receives just one character every two, for example character 1, 3 and 5.
I've connected the same cable to a PC with a cross-over adapter and I can monitor the UART and see all 5 characters being received (although with a delay, due to the USB framing I believe).
The Processor Expert bean has no problems when the Target is connected to a physical UART port, rather than the USB-2-COM cable.
The initial speed of the UART in the Coldfire was set to 115200bps.
I've then lowered it to 19200 but its behaviour is exactly the same.
Has anyone experienced similar problems with the same type of connection?
Thanks,
Emanuel
Hi,
just an update. After some investigation I've started to think that the problem might be due to an incorrect of absent hardware flow control feature with my usb-2-com cable.
Next thing, I'll go to the manufacturer's web site and look for information.
Anyway the Processor Expert UART bean is probably ok.
