Codewarrior v1.7 special edition for ColdFire

I just installed v1.7 of the Codewarrior special edition and downloaded the quick start sample program for MCF52256(ColdFire).

When I tried to debug the program, I got the following error:

"Unable to use the plugin "CCS_CF_Protocol_Plugin" It Is
licensed and a valid license key was not found.

Can anybody tell me what I should do to eliminate this error?

Check and see if you have a license.dat file in your CodeWarrior installation directory. You need that to run certain features, even for the Special Edition.

I did check to see if the license.dat file existed in the installation directory. I even copied it to the project directory just to be sure! It still doesnt debug! Any suggestions?
