I ran the CodeWarrior Updater on my copy of CodeWarrior for PA 8.8 and it downloaded and installed a pile of updates. The MPC8308 showed up in the wizard. To update your copy of CodeWarrior, do the following:
1) Make sure you have a fast Internet connection, and that CodeWarrior for PA 8.8 is not running.
2) Choose Start > Programs > Freescale CodeWarrior > CW forPower Architecture(TM) 8.8 >
CodeWarrior Updater.
The Updater launches and displays all of your CodeWarrior products.
3) Click Next.
The Updater runs its checks, then displays those CodeWarrior products that have updates.
Scroll down the list to find CodeWarrior for PA 8.8 and check its box.
4) Click Next.
The Updater downloads the various service packs and patches.
5) The Installer program for each service pack/update runs. Follow the directions for each installer.
When done, launch CodeWarrior again and MPC8308 should appear as a choice in the New Project wizard.
