So, what, that's a problem? 
Try this: look for the dark-grey "CodeWarrior Connection Server" icon in your Windows Tooltray. This icon appears whenever the debugger is started. When you get a lockup, try right-clicking the CCS icon to close it. Kill it if you have to. This may save your CodeWarrior IDE.
You're right, though, this shouldn't be happening. I think we need a Service Request to formally address the issue. When you create it, please add two things:
- In your USB TAP configuration panel there's an "Enable logging" feature. Turn that on, start the debugger, capture the Log window's contents and send that in.
- In the CodeWarrior IDE select Help->About->Installed Products->Save As and include the resulting text file.
