How to use "Monitor" Component?

Hi!

I´m trying to use the Monitor Component in the CW debugger but I can´t put it to work.

I´m confused about the way to specify the object to monitor. As an example, I enter "PTBD_PTBD3" or "PTBD bit 3", but nothing appears in the channel trace.

Any piece of advice, please?

(I´m using CW 5.1 + S08GT60)

Regards,
Ernesto.

After you open the Monitor dialog,right-click on it,then choose the "Add Channel" menu. Then in the "Add Channel" dialog, enter the object name. If you don't know the object name, you can: - Start the simulator. - Select "Component" -> "Open". The "Open window Component" dialog is opened.. - Double click on "Inspect". The Inspect component is opened.. - Expand the "Object Pool" Tree to find the object name you wanted.

For monitoring of varibles in runtime you can also use Freescale standalone tool named FreeMASTER. It's free and you can find more information here:

Hello

Monitor component does not work for either Multilink, Softec or Full Chip simulator connection.

If you wish to generate a Chart showing how a specific variable value changes while the application is running, you need to use a Chart instrument within a VisualizationTool window.
