There is  no problem when I install the CW08_V5.1 ,but when I start the IDE.exe, there is a problem,it said : “The IDE failure to start suggests that the IDE COM components are not registerd properly. Run regservers.bat which is found in the same location as the IDE.exe program to register the components.” I found the regservers.bat file ,do as the suggestion above, but it dose not work. Can you tell me what is the problem? Thank you.

Not really. I never saw this failing like this, do you have some special setup on your PC?
Like limited user rights, low disk space, limited registry capacity?
Try to start regserver.bat from its actual location, I think it does not work properly when started with another directory as current one.

I gave up trying to get Metrowerks 68hc(s)12 ??  to install properly, but it turns out that the latest version of HCS12(X) installs and runs fine.

Well, It's a fresh WindowsXP Home installation and I'm the only user.... I figure I should have the rights, and the control panel's "users" does show my account as having administrator rights...  I imagine something is protecting Windows from the changes...  I didn't install an anti-virus program yet.  You think that if I install into a directory outside of "program files," that could help?

I too am having a problem with this.  I recently reformatted the disk, reinstalled WindowsXP, installed a video driver, a sound driver, a few motherboard drivers, and then CWhc(s)12 and when I launch the IDE, this same message appears.  I can run the file "regservers.bat" and it appears to complete successfully, but there is no change.  This same computer, with the same hardware configuration was able to install and launch the IDE previously, but since reformatting and reinstalling, other software installs correctly, such as Matlab, but not Code Warrior.  I really don't know what to do to resolve this error.

Thanks for any suggestions

Hello

Just a quick question (Which may look stupid, but anyway).
Do you have administrator access right on your CodeWarrior installation directory?

Or are you using the tools in user mode?
