FreeMASTER with USB

Hello,

I have successfully integrated the FreeMASTER serial driver to my application and can communicate between my Board (TowerSystem with the K60) and my host PC. I now want to migrate to use the USB connection for FreeMASTER. I see not much of a problem to adopt the USB drivers. However when I look into the communication tab of the FreeMASTER option dialog box I see nothing that belongs to USB (see picture) ? So which option for the communication do I have to setup ?

Best Regards

Markus

Hi Markus,

FreeMASTER uses either serial or custom debug connection (JTAG/BDM/...) through a debug probe.

So that USB part is really USB CDC (USB over serial). So if you have intergrated the USB CDC code, this should go throug a virtual COM port on your PC.

So from the FreeMASTER perspective, it would look like a normal serial (COM) port.

Hope this helps,

Erich

PS: there is no picture attached to your question.
