Error: Failed to resume target process. Not allowed to access registers while running

I'm using  the KL25z board for the first time and I was trying to debug my code using the J-link Segger but the following error shows up "Failed to resume target process. Not allowed to access registers while running" and cannot debug after that. Any possible solutions?

Hi Raul:

Failed to resume target process means the debugger is not able to halt/start the device.
