Hi,

 

After reboot of my pc, when lauching CW5.0 IDE, I get the following error (picture enclosed):

 

IDE.EXE - Application Error

 

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc000007b). Click on OK to terminate the application

 

I run following steps to try to rescue:

1/ reboot PC -> same error

2/ remove CW 5.0 using 'Add or remove programs' application then install CW5.0 -> same error

3/ reboot PC -> same error

 

What is the procedure to get CW5.0 up and running again?

Have you solved this problem?

I have encountered the same question with you. After running for more thant 2 year, I can not open the IDE today suddenly.

The strange thing is : I can open in Safe Mode.

Can anyone help me ?

What version of Windows are you using? I assume that you're using CodeWarrior for HCS12, right?

Right, that is CW5.0 for HCS12.

 

OS is Windows XP Professional Version 2002 SP2.

Is this 64-bit XP? In which case, search these forums for the 64-bit workarounds. There are several discussions on these, although it's usually 64-bit Windows 7.

 

Also, did you install CW as admin and are now running as a user? CW needs to access some files in the Program Files directory and the Windows security may be blocking that.

This is a 32-bit XP.

CW was installed with same user account, so with same security access right.

 

Notice that CodeWarrior run during some weeks on the computer then after a reboot the issue is appeared.

OK, I am stumped now. Something is corrupt somewhere, or a system setting for the IDE file got whacked. Time to file a service request on that.

Hello

 

There is something else you may want to try.

 

  - Close CodeWarrior

  - Open a Windows Explorer and browse for %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data

   - Delete the directory Metrowerks there

 

Try to restart CodeWarrior

I run your proposal but was not able to delete Metrowerks directory as there is not into %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data

 

I will open a ticket.
