Remy,

Since several years the customer can manage himself his registration.

He can rehost/repair a license file.

You can re-generate the license file to lock it on a new PC for instance.

To be done your registration must be integrated in our data base under an Asset ID beginning by CWP...., DLP...

If you don't know, can you please provide me your license file.

By default the registration is encrypted in the file.

I could check if the registration can be managed by yourself ...

Else if you provide me the vol C: disk ID and your license file, I could re-encrypt it.

Be aware this tool was not tested under Win 8.

We can not guarantee it will work.

For more details about license file, please have a look to the web:

      Licensing and Registration FAQ|Freescale

Q: How can I get the Disk ID from a Windows PC?

  1. Open a DOS prompt
  2. Type ‘cd C:’ (return)
  3. Type ’VOL’ (return)
  4. Copy the Volume Serial Number value without the dash

Have a great day,
Pascal

I can install the USBdongle under Win 8 64 bit OS.

I've downloaded the Driver at web link:

      USB Dongle Drivers|Freescale

Attached you will find the a video showing the installation.

Did you followed the same process ?

Hi Pascal,

Sorry but I can't read the mp4 file attached.

Could you sent it in mp3 or avi format ?

For information, I already install HASP driver v6.65 from sentinel software with success.

But when I want to read the dongle number with FLEXLm licence manager, there is no id of the dongle :Capture.JPG.jpg

Thank you for your help.

Regards.

Remy,

Attached the avi version.

On my side I've the 6.65.0.0 version too.

To download the driver and Flexlm you can go to:

          USB Dongle Drivers|Freescale

Download the lmtools for Windows (32-bit) and not the lmtools for Windows (64-bit)

It seems there is a problem with the 64bit file.

The 32bit is running fine on my side too (Win 8 64 bit).

Have a great day,
Pascal

Ok Pascal, with the 32 bit it works.

The FLEXID is now visible.

Other problem now, Codewarrior IDE does not recognize the dongle or license file.

Capture 2.JPG.jpg

Before I just make a copy of the "license.dat" file previoulsly installed on the old laptop under windows VISTA.

Can you help me ?

Remy,

Are you using CW for Coldfire V7.1 ?

You've installed on Win 8.1 64 bit and want to use USBdongle with this config ?

Hi Remy,

This is the problem.

CW for Coldfire V7.1 was designed for XP 32 bit OS only.

To support the 64 bit we introduced a new USBDongle driver.

However this driver is not compatible with older version.

This is the case for CW for Coldfire V7.1.

Why ?

Products built with 8.4a of Flexlm (i.e. All of the classic products) will not be able to support win 7 64-bit with USB dongle licensing.

That support was added in 11.4 of Flexlm and our eclipse products moved to 11.5.

This is true for all 64 bit OS.

I've performed some tests under Win 7 64bit and Coldfire V7.1.

The USBdongle can not be used with this config.

You can not use an USBDongle license for Coldfire V7.1 under 64 bit OS.

We recommend you to rehost your license to DiskID.

Other solutions are:

      - Keep XP machine,

      - use last version based on Eclipse MCU V10.6.

This could have an impact for your development because you need to move the project from V7.1 to MCU v10.6.

Have a great day,
Pascal

Well, it is a bad new for me.

About your recommendation,

What do you mean by "rehost your license to DiskID" ?

Remy,

I think we should continue via a SR.

Please can you report the problem to support@freescale.com ?

I'm working at support team.

You can put my name or  To Pascal ...

It will be more confidential to exchange information as license file.

Hi Francisco,

Don't think it's the same problem than Remy.

I recommend you to create a new post for this question.

Keep i mind the License Authorization is not used anymore to manage license file.

Don't use it.

Please provide us more info regarding the tool version you're using.

Do you used Windows 8 too ?

Pascal,

I generate the licence file following the instructions given in the Software & Support site.

It gives me the file and I copy it under the root ColdfireFire V7.1

So I think now I can use it without dongle.

Pascal,

If I want to use CW Coldfire V7.1 on my new laptop under windows 8.1, I must rehost the licence with the DiskID and not by using the dongle.

Is it correct ?

My DiskID (cmd DOS then VOL) is 8E54-4A21

Could you please give me a new licence file and the procedure to install it ?

Regards.
