Alice,
That's the problem. When I visit that link, it offers the following:
Therefore, the installation order should be the following (if an item exists in any category).
- MCU 10.x Update (General Update)
- MCU 10.x Compiler Update
- MCU 10.x Processor Expert Update
- MCU 10.x RTOS Plug-in Update
- Device-specific service pack
- Device-specific Processor Expert Update
Then goes on to list a number of files that can be checked to download, with various flavors on each. How would I know which one is the correct one? I tried initially to just check the first one offered, ie General Update CodeWarrior for MCU 10.6.4-5, clicked on Download Selected Files, preparing to follow the suggested, but vague, enumerated list 1-6 above, which opened up a download box but which then did not proceed or offer any feedback on the failure. I then checked all the boxes, not knowing whether I was bypassing the 'installation order' described above but did so anyway and downloaded all files. That proceeded but now I have a bunch of files, none of which are clearly identified as the installer. Doesn't describe difference between offline and online versions either. Maybe it's clear to someone who is intimately familiar in the creation of these files which is the correct one(s), but how otherwise would someone unfamiliar be able to proceed confidently that the installation will complete correctly or to even know what a correct installation might ultimately look like? Have you no scripted files that avoids the user having to know all the details of the installation process?
We're trying to augment an existing product created with an earlier version of CodeWarrior (pre-integration of all MCUs) for the HCS08 on Windows XP. We currently have CodeWarrior installed on target Windows 7 machine used primarily for ColdFire MCU. This version doesn't appear to be the multiple MCU platform and it identifies itself in the About as IDE Version 5.9.0. I wouldn't want an integrated MCU CodeWarrior platform to step on any existing projects for the ColdFire, as has (disastrously) happened in the past when installing newer versions of CodeWarrior for different MCUs. Does the integrated multiple MCU version of CodeWarrior avoid clashing with already existing CodeWarrior IDEs?
Please, if you can, provide more details on installation process and answer to questions above.
