Hello,

Will there be a patch for CodeWarrior to run on Windows Vista soon?  All new computers come with Vista, I need to upgrade my computer which runs Windows 98SE because CodeWarrior runs very slow on this computer.

Thanks

Hello

Which processor are you targeting?
I know we should have soon a version of CodeWarrior running on Vista for HC(S)08/RS08.

And how soon is that? My company just ordered new laptop for me and it has Vista on it. By the way, I'm still waiting for the Windows XP 64-bit addition of the driver, for my workstation! I cannot program the MCU with it either.

Haven't told I develop on HCS12.
But I will try again to find some Vista-compatibel CW for this family.

Hello

CodeWarrior for HC12 V4.6, which is the current HC12 release does not support Windows Vista.
This should be supported in a later release of the tools.

I do not have a schedule for that one yet.

     - Now you can decide whether you want to download a Special edition or an evaluation
        version of the software.

Hi,

the 4.7 release seems to be working well now on my Vista laptop.  I can now reliably start debugging using the P&E BDM from within the IDE.

Cheers and Thanks!

Hi,
i just tried multiple times to install 4.7 on my vista ultimate sp1 and when it is nearing the end of the install wizard, it will stop suddenly and say that:

"The wizard was interrupted before CodeWarrior development studio for hcs12(x) v4.7 could be completely installed."

has any one else had this problem?
what do i do i have been trying for a good two hours to make it work.

thanks

Make sure you have version 4.7.  If you do and it still will not install try uninstalling GrooveMonitor which is part of Microsoft Office 2007.  This worked for me.

Hi,

I try to install "CWHCS12X_v4.7_Eval.exe".
I haven't installed Microsoft Office.

Are there any other tips??
Thanks

Try the special edition.

http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/overview.jsp?nodeId=01272600610BF1

It's limited by code size to 32KB which should be enough to evaluate it.

can also try to download 4.7.1 here

I get the same error about the wizard being interrupted.
Digging a little deeper, I found that it is due to the Vista 64-bit. I am running Vista Ultimate 64-bit. the same install package runs on all 32bit versions, but not the 64. On the IDE webpage, it clearly states that only 32bit versions of windows are supported.

Anyone has any idea when Freescale will launch the 64-bit vista support update?

Thanks
