USB-TAP connectivity

I would like to be able to connect my USB-TAP to an already running system without having to download code to it.  The Debug options "Attach to process" and "Connect" look like possibilities, but don't work.  There is some documentation on "High Speed Simultaneous Transfer" in my pdf file "Targeting_56800E" page 113 under Host-Side Client Interface that makes me think this should be doable.

The Connect choice (Debug > Connect) ought to work, but all you will be able to do is view registers and memory. No symbolic information will be available. See page 186 of the Targeting_56800E Manual.
