The CodeWarrior USB TAP Users Guide states, in the Troubleshooting section, to ensure that the file "/etc/hotplug/usb/usbtap" exists. Well, it doesn't exist on my machine. Now what?

The 2.6 software, along with a firmware update to the USB TAP, solved the problem.
Thanks for your interest, JediMaster.

You're using a Linux system from the looks of it. Correct? Still, what version of CodeWarrior are you using? What's your target processor? Did you install any USB driver?

Yes, we are using CodeWarrior Development Studio for PowerPC ISA, Linux Application/Platform Edition, Ver. 2.5. So, we found a couple of updates yesterday on the Freescale website, installed them, and now have the required usbtap file. So, we are getting closer, but we are still not making the connection to the USB TAP, which uses a DPI interface instead of JTAG. (JTAG USB TAP is not available for the MPC 852T.) Now we get the error "JTAG Clock Speed Change Error". Kind of seems like CodeWarrior is expecting a JTAG interface to the USB TAP, not DPI.
I've downloaded the 2.6 version of CodeWarrior, and I'll be trying that today.

I have not loaded any USB driver.
