I have got the http://cache.freescale.com/files/dsp/doc/quick_ref_guide/MC56F8006DEMOQSG.pdf - which does not comes with the JTAG debugger. Or is it necessary? Can I just hook up the board with the USB provided cable to the computer and upload the applications through the USB on the board itself?
After I power on the board, and connect it to the computer via the USB my Windows XP never seemed (with Code Warriors installed from the CDs) never seemed to recognize the device. Is the JTAG debugger really necessary - to upload program unto the board?
Dear Peter,
The interface on the board appears to be OSBDM-JM60 but as far as I know there is no official firmware to support the board. You can try asking AXIOM or Freescale if they have a version that is suitable or try the OSBDM-JM60 software posted here:
https://community.freescale.com/thread/58265
Alternatively you can try the version of the USBDM software that was adapted for that hardware. See the following link:
http://usbdm.sourceforge.net/USBDM_V4.3/USBDM_CF_JMxx/html/index.html
Doing so would, I expect, invalidate your warranty. You would also need a HCS08 BDM to program the firware to the JM60 on the board.
bye
