I had installed CodeWarrior Dev. Studio V6.2 for Coldfire V1 architecture on WinXP.
i had registered online and got a license , which i can use only when FLEXlm Dongle is connected.
i get the following error message when i complie & link any project on CW.
"Error : Unable to use the plugin "Embedded ColdFire Linker". It is licensed and a valid license key was not found.
License server does not support this feature
Feature: Win32_ColdFireV1_Special_128
License path: C:\Programme\Freescale\CodeWarrior for Microcontrollers -
V6.2\license.dat
FLEXlm error: -5,357
For further information, refer to the FLEXlm End User Manual,
available at "www.macrovision.com"."
I was working on CW Evaluation version previously, which i had downloaded from freescale site.
i had Uninstalled the Evaluation version before freshly installing CW from the CD which i got with the suite.
I am totally stuck with this .
Please somebody help !!!

Thank you for your reply.
Finaly, i got that error removed ,
i dont know what exactly made that work !!!
But what i did was used the same license.dat file and installed the downloaded version of the CW Dev. tool Special Edition V6.2 instead of installer provided with CD.One more thing that i didnt try this time was NOT trying for any updation using the updater !!!!
I am not sure which out of the two made it work. but for the moment i am happy to make it .
Thank you for the posts.
I 'll soon come back after experimenting, as what caused the head ache.
I would start by looking at the license.dat file. Does it match the one you obtained when you purchased with the suite? When you uninstall software, the uninstaller sometimes leaves files some files behind, and occasionally this is the case with the CodeWarrior license.dat file. I am not clear on your order of installing and removing software, band I am guessing that you are still using the old evaluation license.dat file, somehow. Since you're using a dongle, can you try the software on a different system and see if it works there?

I tried installing it on a Fresh PC.The installation was complete and successful , But the problem persists.
The old license file was properly replaced with new one.i had that checked.
The license file is as:
##################################################################
# If this is a floating license, replace <this_host> with your
# license server host IP address, or your license server host name

What else could be wrong ????!!!!!
Thank you for the response.

Thanks for posting the license.dat file. I tracked down your dongle ID in the database, and it says that the license you have obtained is for CodeWarrior for ColdFire, version 7. The version 6.2 ColdFire tools will not work with this license. I would suggest downloading the Special Edition of CodeWarrior for ColdFire version 7.1, installing that, and then applying your license.dat file to that installation. With the license.dat file, the Special Edition tools will work become a fully-featured Standard Edition. HTH.
