Hello, All,

currently I am using MC9S08QG8 ,but now I feel the 8k flash  is a bit tight (also 512 bytes ram), anybody can tell me which freescale 8-bit MCU is closer to qg8 from all respects but with 10-12k flash and 1 k RAM?

thanks a million

you guys are really knowledgeable ,so quick to find what I need,I appreciate it a lot.
now it seems Sg16 is the best candidate(I need 16 / 20 pins, 28 pins are too many),but as bigmac said no datasheet availlable, so the next question is when freescale would release sg16?

Hi,
I saw in the Freescale www that the 9S08SG32 is available as PC.
The 9S08SG16 is not mentioned, but my guess is that it is exactly the same device as the 9S08SG32 but with a smaller Flash EPROM.
I don't know the availability of the 9S08G32, but if you can get it instead, that would do the trick.

Regards,
Ake

Check out the S08SG16 from the automotive group:

http://www.freescale.com/webapp/sps/site/prod_summary.jsp?code=S08SG

16K flash, 1K Ram, 20Mhz core and almost the same peripherals as the QG family.

Hello,

The S08SG16 is probably not yet available generally.  I could not find a data sheet for this device.  Only the SG8 is currently listed at the above link.

Note that the SG series have a different operating voltage range than the QG8, and may not be suitable for battery operation from a single Lithium cell, a capability of the QG8.

Hi Harry,

You need to tell us the peripherals that you require.
The S08RD with 16k looks promising as the next step up, 28 pins.
But you lose the SPI!
