mc9s08dz128 eeprom being overwritten

I am using an MC9S08DZ128 with codewarrior V10.4 and a PE Micro USB Multilink interface. My plan is to store calibration constants in the on board EEprom but what I am finding is that every time I go into debug and down load new code the EEprom is being cleared. Has anyone come across this problem and found a solution?

To avoid erase eeprom when download, please follow below steps:

1. go to debug configuration, click on "edit":
2. then click on “advanced programming options”
3. it will open the dialog where you can specify areas to be preserved
