I want to program the MC9S08GT32A.

Until now we used a Cyclone PRO.

Now i see at the Cyclon PRO Site that the Cyclone PRO will be replaced by P&E's CYCLONE and CYCLONE FX programmers.

https://www.nxp.com/products/power-management/load-switches-and-drivers/high-side-switches/cyclone-p...

At the S08GT Site is under Programmers the cyclone PRO and cyclone FX listed.

https://www.nxp.com/products/processors-and-microcontrollers/additional-processors-and-mcus/8-16-bit...

Which programmer should i prefer? the cyclone FX?

Hello John,

thanks for your answer.

we use the cyclone PRO in a system and control it over LAN with our software.

Do you know if we can replace the cyclone PRO with the cyclone (FX) without modifying the software?

is the cyclone software interface the same?

Hi Dirk,

I can't answer this. The menus are similar. The GT32 code (.s19) doesn't need to change. However, I'm not sure what's involved in the LAN setup. It should be similar.

John

Hello Dirk,

If nothing is wrong with your Cyclone Pro, you can continue using it. The Cyclones have been upgraded. If you need to upgrade, the lower cost option is the Cyclone Universal. The high end option is the Cyclone FX. The best way to determine which one to pick (if you need a new one) is to review the Cyclone details on the P&E website: PEmicro | Experts in Embedded tools for Flash Programming and Development

Regards,

John
