connecting ZSTAR via serial

Folks,

I've just got a ZSTAR kit for evaluation, everything works fine with included demo.
But I cant get anything via hyper-terminal through COM port. I tried serveral setting parameters and
still dont working at all.

Since I want grab information for the sensor directly, is anyone successful on this yet ? Otherwise there's
some documents that I was missing.

Thanks for your help
Ed

It works fine. The documentation for the serial protocol is ZSTARRM.pdf.

serial parameter (e.g.):
baud rate 9600
data 8bit
stop 1bit

you can optimize speed, on my pc it even works with 115200.

Bye,
Martin

Dears,

since the ZSTAR uses serial communication emulation over USB, the actual baudrate is only limited by the speed of USB stick/USB bus/driver chain. No serial parameter is taken into account, simply all settings are ignored.

Once the RD3152MMA7260Q_SW.exe GUI works, the same COM port number can be used to grab the data over HyperTerminal or any other application that is able to talk to serial port.

BTW, new firmware for Sensor and USB stick plus the new GUI is being developped and soon will be available to replace current firmware.
