ZigBee Binding Confusion

I have a question regarding ZigBee binding.

I have a switch and I would like to bind that switch to 3 lamps (the example in the ZigBee documentation). After binding these lamps to the switch I would like to turn on/off the lapms individually. The idea is to have a mobile swtich which could turn off and on all lamps in the house. Is it possible to do this?

Hi,

When using binding you need to consider the "endpoint" like a switch on the wall.

Controlling 3 lamps individually can not be done using just 1 switch :smileyhappy:

If you want to use binding, you will need to have 3 switch applications in your device, else you can not bind each "switch"/endpoint to an individual lamp.

Another option is to send the on/off command directly to each indivual lamp. this only requires one endpoint but requires you know the destination endpoint and address.

I can recommend that you acquire Drew Gislason's book : "ZigBee Wireless networking" as a add on to reading the ZigBee specificaton.
