Hi,
Is there a Freescale 8 or 16bit microcontroller with CAN available in a SOIC or DIP package?
Thanks, Ian
Regards.
Sorry, but that doesn't work. I tried that before posting.
There is no parametric search filter option for 'Package Description and Diagram' for the 8-bit devices.

Try the non-flash version. I used it this morning, before replying to you and it worked just fine. It has more options than the flash version. There's a link situated above the search box of the flash version to switch between them.
This is the link for the non-flash version. Then, click on Advance parametric search in the filters section and you will find lots of filters, including package and serial interface.
This link will guide you directly

Thanks, that works.
Unfortunately the answer to my query seems to be 'no'.

Ian,
is 0.8mm pitch 32lead QFP much worse than SOIC? If it isn't, then please consider MC9SDZ and MC9SDV MCUs. DZ and DV derivatives with up to 60k flash are available in 32pins QFP. 96 and 128k aren't available in such package.
SOIC is 1.27mm lead pitch and that's about the limit for my soldering by hand and for a cheap single-layer PCB design where you might want to route out between the processor pins. Also with SOIC or DIP you can route out the end of the chip, not possible with a quad pack.
I'd rather spend the $40 for a TechArts NanoCore12C32 than try to design for a 0.8mm QFP.

Glad I helped, sorry about your misfortune.
