In the Mechanical Drawings section of the datasheet for the S08SH it shows an Exposed Die Attach Pad occupying all the area on the underside of the chip. It doesn't say what this should be connected to, if anything.
A reasonable person might expect this to be the substrate and should be connected to Vss, but I've been using chips like this long enough to know to expect the unreasonable. Does anyone know for sure what to do with this pad?
