I have been trying to load the all_fsl563r1.brd file for the zigbee eval kits SRB into Eagle so I could reuse some of their board layout designs.

Has anyone else tried to load this file?

Flyingasics,

I haven't tried to load it into Eagle. However, I think they files have been created in Orcad by Cadence. If you just want to look at the layout, you can download a demo from their website. I don't think the demo version will allow you to save and export to Eagle due to the number of components used in the PCB. Have you tried doing an import in Eagle?

Regards,

Wiresim.

Ok, I can open the .brd file with OrCad 16.0 Demo, but I cannot save anything.

Our school has Orcad family release 9.2.  Capture will open the .dsn schematic file, but

layout will not open the .brd file.

Has anyone used freescales files to make their own PCBs?

If the file has a .brd suffix, than that should be an Allegro file.
You can go to the Cadence website and download a free Allegro viewer.
