I'd like to use the most reclently launched Freescale 8-bit MCU. My project uses 68HC908QY4. What's Freescale 8-bit can i use?

I would recommend you to use S08 if possible. BDM is so much better than the HC08 monitor mode crap and will most likely save you lots of troubleshooting. Especially if you are using a 8-pin device like QT4 where you are forced to adapt your whole design to suit the monitor crap.

I would agree that the HCS08 family is a dream to develop on compared to the MON08 parts. But do yourself a favor (if you switch) and read this thread!

It will save you a bunch of hair-pulling when it happens to you.

QB8/QB4 havea similar pin layout, but I'm not sure if that's what you want.

Hi CarlosH

Depending on the supply voltage you could use QB8/4 or QD4 using 3V.
If 5V is a concern you may use a AW16/... device.
