How would I interface an external ADC(from the ADC: Data Ready, Clock and 8 Data Lines) to the HCS12?

How would I interface an external ADC(from the ADC: Data Ready, Clock and 8 Data Lines) to the HCS12? Would the ADC use the GPIO inputs to the HCS12? Should the Clock use an Interrupt?
