Hi.
I' tring to program a GP32 MCU with the software called P&E ICS08GPGTZ.
The programmer that ia used is the one from the original datasheet.
When i try to enter in Monitor Mode with tis mcu,the software tels me that,on the STATUS Section, at the 4th Status Indicator that the mcu did not enter the monitor mode.First 4 Status indicators are ok("Y") .The rest are blank.
What solutions can you offer me?
Tnx.

Hi xena,

The first test that is failing is "Device Entered Monitor Mode", is this correct?
Does it fail here every time?
This is a strange point to fail at!
You have clicked the help button beside the status and read that?
Have you tried another target device?

It fail avery time.
I read ALL that it is said on HELP
I have tried 4 MCU's and the result was the same every time.

Do you have others opinions why isn't working?
Tnx

Hi xena,

The reason I double checked this with you is that in the thoasands of times I have done this I don't remember ever seeing it stall here.
The target has already indicated to the host that it is in monitor mode and this is really just a double check by reading out the monitor version.
The hardware of your adapter has been checked as two way communication has already occured.
So the only things I can think of is:
Reset voltage not low enough.
Clock very slightly off frequency. What are you using?

Are all the parts you have tested programmed or blank. Try a blank one if you can.

Really poking in the dark here...

I'm using a 16MHz oscilator with a custom baud-rate of 15625 from PC.
I tried 1 programmed mcu and 3 blanks. The result is te same in all 4 cases.

Hi,

Have you tried everthing the same but 9.8304MHz and 9600 baud?

Is your clock duty cycle good?

The duty cycle is 50%.I measured the voltage between OSC1 and OSC2 with a voltage meter and the values diplayed was 2.5 V.
I havent' tried a 9.804MHz oscilator. This might be the problem?

It _might_ be.
Most people, including me, run it at 9.8Meg. I definately works here.
I have no experience and have never heard of anyone running the monitor at this speed.
Failing comment from anybody that has done this, it is what I would try first.

It seems that the 16MHz osccilator requires a speciefied baud-rate that cannot be "emulated" properly by the software.Using a 20MHz osscilator, the specified baud-rate it is more appropiate of a real hardware suported baud-rate.
So,using a 20Mhz for example, all works fine.
