Hi all!

I work with old device, built on NXP/Freescale S9S08EL32 MCU and I have a problem with it. I need to program EEPROM on this MCU, but I can't.

I using an USBDM Programmer and every time I trying to flash an EEPROM the USBDM Programmer send me an error "Access to PPAGE register failed".

How many pages of EEPROM MCU has and what I need to change in USBDM Programmer?

What I need to do to flash EEPROM correctly?

Hello,

Could you share which OS and IDE are you using please?

Could you help us confirm that you installed the drivers for USBDM?

The EEPROM has 2 pages (Page 0 and Page 1) the access in memory map is described in the MC9S08EL32: Data Sheet for MC9S08SL16 and MC9S08EL32 Series MCUs Chapter 4.5.11.3

Additionally in Chapter 4.5.2 indicate some configurations to do before any program or erase command can be accepted.

Best Regards

I'm using Windows 10 x64 Professional Edition. For programming my MCU I'm using USBDM Programmer (hardware) and USBDM Software ver. 4.12.1.340 and USBDM 4.12.1.325. The hardware programmer's firmware 4.12.2. USBDM Programmer is chinese replica, bought on Aliexpress. Drivers for USBDM installed.

I've read about EEPROM memory in datasheet, but I don't know, what and where I need point out any configuration options of EEPROM programming.

The USBDMs in AliExpress are not an official NXP product, Sorry for the inconveniences this might have caused you.

I would recommend you contact the manufacturer or vendor on this for supporting the product.

Also, you could try using CodeWarrior® for MCUs (Eclipse IDE) v11.1 that support MC9S08EL32 using the compatible programmers to flash the device.

64BYTES for EEPROM SIZE according to the RM for MC9S08 but you may refer to the AN5233 for program setup guideline. Is there any error code or error log?

Every time I trying to program my MCU the software return error message "Access to PPAGE register failed!"

I think it's because of my attempts to program EEPROM memory without any attributes or options enabled. And I don't know what to do.

BTW, why not try codewarrior IDE to program instead? Third party tools may be hard to support from MCU vendor side

do you want to program eeprom emulated on MCU chip or you want to program on seperated EEPROM from SPI or I2C?

I want to program eeprom inside MCU. I haven't any memory chip on my board.
