Flash programming routines on GZ32

Why are there not onboard flash programming routines on the GZ32/48/60?
The memory where they reside on the GZ16 is unused on the GZ32/48/60.

Whats more confusing is the product summary for the GZ32 has a link to the APP note AN2545 (Using the On-Chip FLASH programming routines).

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hi Paul,

There are not embedded Flash programming routines in ROM on the bigger HC08 Flash devices because you have the space to put them in Flash.

It's also safer not to have these routines if your application is not writting memory as code run-away will not be able to corrupt it.
