Emulate ft245 with hcs08 is it possible?

Hi! i've an old application that use ft245 for usb connection; i'd like change it with another component, because my costumer report some fault; Can I use an HCS08 device like jb or js family for emultate ftdi device? it's possible use libusb driver instead to ftdi driver and make work again the application or i need to design again also the pc sw application for work with hcs?
