9S08QG8 serial bootloader

Has anyone modified the 9S08GB serial bootloader AN2295 to work with the 9S08QG8? If so:

-did it work ok?

- are you willing to share your mods?

I want to be able to flash-upgrade a device I'm developing. Is this the way to do it?
